During the week of April 21 to April 27, India's coal
import data reveals significant quantities imported from several nations, each
contributing to India's energy supply chain.
Indonesia emerged as the primary source of coal for India
during this period, constituting a staggering 55.8% of the total imports. The
substantial quantity imported highlights India's reliance on Indonesian coal to
fuel its industries and power generation.
South Africa and the USA also made notable contributions,
with 17.5% and 11% of the total imports, respectively. Colombia accounted for
10.6% of India's coal imports, showcasing a substantial but relatively smaller
contribution.
China and Mozambique, although contributing smaller
percentages individually, collectively accounted for 8.2% of India's coal
imports.
Russia's contribution of 2% reflects a smaller but notable presence in India's coal import landscape. Russia's participation highlights the global nature of coal trade and India's efforts to diversify its import sources for energy security and economic stability.
